Goal List Update

Hello there! It's official, I've bought a new keyboard so I'll be posting on here a little more often! I was just looking over the goal list I created at the beginning of the year and realized I've completed some of them. So let's call this my goal list update.

1.) Watch 25 movies I've never seen (7/25)
(def watch: The lovely bones, Blue Valentine, The Help)
  • Water for Elephants: *****
  • Jenifer's Body: **
  • Sharing the Secret: **
  • Center Stage: ***
  • A Secret Between Friends: ***
  • Safe Haven: ****

2.) Lose 30 pounds: 12 more to go!
((follow my weight loss journey blog posts)) - ((now that I have a keyboard, they'll get better))

3.) Achieve the hair color I want: Get a short choppy hair cut
I decided I would much rather grow out my natural hair color, and chop it short! I'll probably want to bleach it again when it's shorter, but for now this is what I'm gonna do!

4.) Visit NY - NYE
If things go as talked about, I'm trying to make this happen this year!!

5.) Start exercising
Ehh, once I lose a little more weight on my own with healthy eating, then I'll exercise more. Soon I'm going to start stretching more in attempts to become flexible and 30 minute walks will start once I lose 7 more lbs.

6.) Become a better person, inside and out.
I practice this every single day.

7.) Eat healthier - cut out junk food, drink only water
I bought a bunch of healthy food at the grocery story.. :) and I decided I won't be too harsh on the no soda, I'll take everything slow. I bought a case of mini diet cokes. That will be my soda when I so desperately need one.

8.) Get a part time job
I start applying everywhere March 1st - literally EVERYWHERE.

9.) Become tan again
Currently started working on this :) - I hope I have a Summers tan by the first day of Spring!

10.) Cancel gym membership

11.) Find serenity - find myself
Finally seeing the light from the depression I was in.. I really want to continue finding that light. I feel like I'm almost there.

12.) Move out

13.) Go back to school

14.) Take care of oral health - get braces off
Hey guess what? the last time I was at the orthodontist, they said 3-4 months left of braces!!

15.) Get into the habit of waking up at 9 - sleeping by 1 (for now)
My alarm clock is on constant set for 9:00, I'll change it for earlier once 9 a.m. becomes habit.

**added**

16.) Read 5 books (1/5)
  • The Lovely Bones
17.) Stop my bad habits: cracking myself, bad posture.

18.) Learn a new language: Italian or French

19.) Expand my vocabulary!

20.) Do volunteer work

21.) Make my old VHS tapes into CDs

22.) Learn how to apply false lashes

101 in 1001 Update

"watch 50 movies"
(32/50)

"Visit grandparents 20 times"
I've been able to spend a lot of time with them this year.

"Volunteer three times"
This kind of falls into the category of making new recipes. I voluntarily baked cookies for my moms works customers. Twice. Which makes the volunteering three times completed. But like everything else that I wrote down to do a number of times, I'll continue to volunteer when I see opportunities too. Like I'll continue to read if I finish reading 25 books and watch movies if I finish watching 50. If that makes sense.

My 101 in now a 13

"Go visit dad in NY"

No this hasn't been completed yet but come June 7th I'm leaving on a one way flight up to NY. For those of you who don't know, my father has cancer and it's getting worse and worse. All he wants is to see me one last time. The way it sounds up there is that he wont be around much longer which makes me so sad. I put in my two weeks notice at work yesterday. But these days are simply dragging. I really hope we don't lose him before I go up to visit. I also hope he doesn't pass while I'm there because I don't know how I would deal with that. But I would rather be up in NY to see him one last time then not see him at all. I probably wont be blogging all Summer but when I get back to Florida (if I come back), you'll be sure to get a blog post.

"Make 10 new recipes"
(3/10)

I've been going to my moms work a lot lately. Across the street is a grocery store so being bored and the creative person I am, I decided to walk to the store and buy some things to make cookies! I made sparkly pink sugar cookies and double white chocolate chip cream sandwiches!

"watch 50 never seen before movies"
(28/50)

I'm just going to give a 1-5 star rating this week because I'm too lazy to write a mini review! LOL

Some Kind of Wonderful - ***
Definitely Maybe - **** because I love Ryan Reynolds and Isla Fisher! <3 ..and love stories of course!
Wimbledon - *
Head over Heels - *** this was a cute chick flick but I mainly enjoyed watching "the models" in this movie!
The Lucky One - *** of course I read the book and obviously the book gave more details then the movie but this was pretty good. I was never really a big fan of Zach Effron even though girls were always crazy about him, but I must say he's became a cutie! The rough look is really doing him good! Pretty boy look, not so much!

"Read 25 books"
(12/25)

I'm not even kidding when I say I can relate. Even to the smallest detail that she gives about certain things, I can relate. Which is pretty sad but true. I love this book and it inspires me a lot. Definitely life changing and I'm thinking about reading it a second time! If you are or have dealt with an eating disorder I HIGHLY recommend you pick up this book.

101 in 1001 Update

I'm so happy I was able to accomplish more then one or two things since the last I posted a little update. There's only 23 more things left on my list, but they will take time to do because a lot of them are to do something a number of times. Such as watching movies. I have 27 more movies to watch until I can mark the "Watch 50 movies I've never seen" off my list. Once I get down to 20 things on my 101 I'll actually post the list in a blog post. I'm pretty excited to accomplish more things and then after start a new list but that wont be until like New Years probably. Haha. anyway.. here's some things I got to cross off since the last time I updated.

"upgrade my cell phone"

After three years of having the same cell phone, I bought this!

"watch 50 movies that I've never seen"
(23/50)

I enjoyed both of these. "Waiting for Forever" was different but it was cute because the main characters, even though they had different issues, seemed so innocent. I don't know what I'm trying to say. Baby Mama was definitely entertaining LOL

"read 25 books"
(11/25)

I was almost able to say I've officially read all of Emily Griffin's books until I checked out her website to see if this fact was true. There was a new book listed from the last time I checked her site. I haven't seen this book at Target (where I usually buy books) or anywhere else, but it is out and is being sold. So I guess I have to add "Where we belong" to my "to read" list. I'm happy though because her books are very enjoyable to me. Quick reads. These two were good. Not my as great as "Something borrowed' but good quick reads. I finished in two days. But that's typical for me.

This week I accomplished just one thing - I BOUGHT GYM SHOES

"Purchase a good pair of gym shoes"

101 in 1001 Update

"Go to the gym 200 times this year"
(9/200)
I went every day except for Wednesday.

"Get my eyebrows waxed"
This isn't a once in a 1001 thing - I just couldn't think of something to fill the blank. So I put "get eyebrows done" lol. I had an enjoyable experience, the lady kept saying how great my eyebrows were that the arch is high and that their perfect. I felt so special!

"Do 5 DIY's"
(2/5)
I made a really nice birthday card for my step dad and I also made my house key pretty.

"Wash my car"
She's nice and shiny again.

"Save $1000 extra dollars"
Thanks income tax!

not the most picture friendly post, but my 101 is now a 66!

"give up candy for a month"
(10/30)
I gave up candy for lent. I wont eat candy again until lent is over, but once I complete 30 days I'll get to cross this off my list.

"Watch 50 movies I've never seen"
(19/50)

my ratings

"The Devil Wears Prada" - I liked this movie because I love Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. I also love fashion and fashion transformations! I was happy with how this movie ended! I'm happy that when all was said and done, Andy didn't lose touch of who she is.

"My Week with Marilyn" - Michelle Williams did an excellent job of playing Marilyn. I think I was more amazed by this then paying attention to the actual story line. I enjoyed watching her. Wow, she even had the voice down pat.

"Julie & Julia" - This movie made me happy. Amy Adams was so adorable and the fact that she was a blogger warmed my heart <3

"Becoming Jane" - I guess this is one of those movies that would be a follow up movie to a book being read in a High School class. It's just what it reminded me of. I was bored watching it LOL.

"Read 25 books"
(8/25)

I enjoyed reading this. I'm not sure if I enjoyed reading this more then I did "Something Borrowed", but it is a close one. This book actually made me love Darcy. I hated her in "Something borrowed". I guess it shows what how different perspectives can change an opinion! This book shows how a person can truly change for the better. It's amazing. I realized many life lessons just by reading this.
"Pinterest for an entire day"
I know this sounds lazy for a 101 goal, but this is something one can do very easily. I don't know about you, but once I log on to this site I get carried away with looking at all the different trends, all the do it yourself activities, all the pretty pictures that time just slips away! No I didn't devout a day exclusively to Pinterest, but I have been on the site more lately and I've gotten the fix I was craving when I put this on my 101 list!

101 in 1001 Update

"give up soda for a month"
I'm on day 11/30 and getting to the point where I no longer want soda.

"give up candy for a month"
I gave up candy for lent. Obviously that's going to be longer then a month but hey, nothing wrong with that.

"Get in the habit of waking up at 6:00"
As I've mentioned before, I'm slowly working my way down towards a 6 o clock wake up. Currently my alarm clock has me waking up 6:40. So my bet is this will be crossed off in another month or so.

"buy new contact lenses"

Finally!

"watch 50 movies that I've never seen"
(15/50)

 my ratings

"Steel Magnolias" - I enjoyed watching this, it didn't instantly become one of my favorite movies ever, but it was good!

"Southern Belles" - for the majority of the movie, I didn't know what I was watching but I must have laughed the most I ever have when the scene comes on where Belle gets offended by the French girl trying to find cat food! LMAO. That part cracked me up. This was cute, Laura Breckenridge is pretty!

"Sabrina" - I liked watching this mainly because of the simplicity of it. One reason why I love older films! I also enjoyed watching Audrey <3

"Eat Pray Love" - Of course the book was more detailed but besides that, they couldn't have made the movie any better. I liked Julia Roberts in this - I didn't like her in Steel Magnolias! She's a good actress don't get me wrong, but I don't like her younger day acting. If that makes sense.

"Pretty in Pink" - Yes, I had never seen this movie before now, but I loved it! I think it became one of my favorites. I especially LOVED Iona (Annie Potts). It's crazy when a movie becomes your favorite and you realize how old it is. That characters are much older then they were, but whatever. It's still a good movie.

"read 25 books"
(7/25)

"Eat Pray Love" - I heard so many bad reviews before I read this. A lot of people were saying how Elizabeth was selfish and people weren't able to relate to it because she was constantly talking about herself. Well for one, it is HER book about HER journey so I don't understand why people wasted their time even saying thatt. I don't know about you but I was able to relate. This book, in a way made me want to be closer to God. It makes me want to one day travel and enjoy life. It even made me interested in going to an ashram!

"The Vow" - Of course I saw the movie before reading the book, but it was like two separate stories. I like how the book and movie are different, but the same. I like how this book was a short and fast read. My kind of book, haha!

"Something Borrowed" -  I FINALLY started reading Emily Griffin's books! From the moment I opened and started reading this book, I was hooked and didn't want to put it down. I was so happy with how it ended. I was happy Dex and Rachel ended up together.

"Have a TV day"
I put this on my list because at the time I had absolutely no time for any of my shows, but in the last couple weeks I've pretty much caught up and have gotten plenty of TV time in.

"Catch up on Pretty Little Liars"

The new season started back up last Monday. ABC family had a PLL marathon leading up to the season premiere. I watched it all day and I can totally say I'm caught up ((:

"apply for the bunny job, again"

last year I worked the one month job of the Easter bunny set in the mall! I was only the Easter bunny twice - lol that suit is torture! But I had fun selling packages and taking pictures of the kids with the bunny. I applied to be a part of the set again this year. I'll let you know whether or not I get the job!

"bake 10 new recipes"
 (1/10)

   I made apple chips ((:

"Start eating sandwich thins instead of sandwich bread"
I bought sandwich thins last Monday and no longer plan on purchasing regular bread.

"Pay for car sticker"
parents paid for it - I paid them back by buying groceries!

"Buy a Marilyn Monroe Picture - Frame it for my room"

I ordered the picture online then bought the frame from Michaels. I am so so happy this picture is here now and no more pictures from like three years ago!
