You Know You're From...

...Florida when...

...you wear flip-flops and shorts year-round...

...anything under a category 3 hurricane isn't worth boarding up for...

...you've been to Disney world more times than you can count...

...there's only two seasons - hot and hotter...

...The AC is on and you've been to the beach on Christmas day...

...sharks AREN'T your biggest fear while you're at the beach...

...you have a tan year-round...

...''y'all'', ''ain't'', ''soda''...

...the State bird is the MOSQUITO...

...you could swim before you could read...

...grad night at Disney...

...you still can't believe there are States that don't have beaches...

...70 degrees outside? Break out the winter clothes...

...half of the people in your City are retired...

...you don't use an umbrella because you know the rain will only fall for five minutes...

...you have to drive North to get to The South...

...you DREAD love bug season...

...you were 13 before you saw snow, or still haven't...

...bumper stickers usually include a gator or a fish...

...It may be raining in your front yard, but not your back yard...

What an amazing idea - I'll have to start thinking of the things for where I am from. Florida sounds amazing though, especially as I've woken up to rain and had to put the heating on to warm the house up! xx

I was born in Florida and though I didn't really grow up there I've been there every year of my life visiting family so I understand most of these :)

Our school wasn't allowed to go to Grad night, AND it was in Orlando. Crap, I tell you!

Dear Heather,
I'm from Oregon but live in Oklahoma now. My big dream is to move to the keys with my hubby. It's his big dream too. Hot & hotter is ok with me. Rain is also known as liquid sunshine if you're from Portland Oregon.

OMG, what you wrote was sooo true it's insane! I've lived here pretty much my entire life. What you said about rain in your front yard and not your back yard pretty much somes up summer here. It's so funny that seeing those clouds roll in around 4 pm is somewhat comforting to me. LOL
