So I had this blog post set up - it was full of simplicity pictures of morning time at the end saying that I hope everybody has a good day. Well, I didn't wake up in the morning. I woke up around noon but that's okay because I have a different topic to discuss. Rude Bloggers.
No, I'm not going to make the words more friendly because I wouldn't feel like I'm getting my point across. When I think of these kinds of bloggers, I don't think "big shot" or that they are brainwashed and believe their blog is too cool or anything like that. I think of them as RUDE!
I had some free time yesterday so I spent a couple hours just blogging. Since I've been following the same blogs for a year now, I wanted to see if I could find a couple new ones to follow. So I literally read and left a comment on so many blogs. A comment from my heart. Not like those people who just overlook any material and say "Nice post" regardless of if it's a sad post or not. Because I freakin' HATE that. My comments all mean something to me, and a few were even asking questions because I was interested to find out a few things.
Well, long story short - guess how many replies I got?
TWO!
TWO replies out of like ONE HUNDRED.
If someone takes time to comment on your blog and you just don't reply, that just makes you rude!
Oh and trust me, before I jumped to any conclusions. I gave you the benefit of the doubt. Y'all are busy and have lives, but the thing is - I followed a bunch of these blogs I "loved" and most of them have updated today and last night.
No, this doesn't irritate me because of how much time I spent on your blogs, because I enjoyed reading about your lives and what not. But when I literally left a comment on 100 blogs and get 2 replies, that's just messed up. You're just messed up. End of story!

I am definitely NOT the greatest about commenting on other people's blogs (case in point, I've been following you for a while but I'm not sure I've ever commented, lol) but I do always try to respond when people comment on mine. I know what you mean. I try not to let it get to me though. I hope I've commented back to all my comments, if I don't it's been a careless oversight and not a snub :)
I agree, I have a lot of blogs that I love and follow. I don't think but 1 or 2 every comment back to me. I shoot people emails, tweets, comments and nothing.I do enjoy your blog however and I am sorry that it happens to you as well.
You said it sister!;) I have to agree with everything. Sometimes I get 20+ comments on a post and although it may take me a day or two to reply, I always do! It's just plain rude to not comment back!
Awww. I actually commented back to you tonight and then I just went to your blog to check it out after and saw this. :(
I was really busy yesterday and not home this morning so this is the first chance I have had to sit down at my laptop and read my comments.
I really hope you get more comments back. I always try to because I like to form friendships with my blog readers. I have been making some really sweet, fun bloggy friends on here that I comment back and forth with.
I really appreciate you reading my blog and commenting me!!!! Keep reading and if you comment I will comment back - even if it takes me a day or so! :)
I always make my comments on others blogs mean something. I do not like the "FOLLOW ME CAUSE I COMMENTED" comments and honestly, if I do not like a blog I do not follow/comment just to gain new followers. I also always reply to comments on my blog. I understand the "bigger" blogs have more questions/comments ect but still ... at least try to reply.
This is a fair point, I hate it when people do this. Although it is annoying that Blogger doesnt offer the function of seeing replies. Therefore I comment back on their blog directly as then they're guaranteed to see it x
Wow that is an incredible amount of no replies! I'm sorry so many were't responding. I try to reply back right away from my phone, if not I'll do it once I log in on my computer and reply back that way.
I have been blogging on and off for 8 years on various sites and I totally agree that it is rude to not reply to a comment taht someone sent to you. I look forward to getting to know better. :)
Wow that sucks that you only got 2 replies.
When I am commenting on blogs I honestly don't expect anything back. It is nice, but I don't expect it.
When someone new comments on my blog though, I usually go check out their blog and leave a comment :)
When i first started blogging I did not realize this stuff about word verification..so all the comments I left never got published..maybe that is what happened to you.
That is a lot of effort to put in and not get many responses back. Sorry about that. I know sometimes it can take me up to a week to respond to comments, but I do try to. Maybe most of these bloggers are the same way and you'll get some responses soon!! If not, don't bother continuing to try to have a relationship with them. I've noticed that some bloggers just plain don't respond at all!
Awwe. I'm sorry, hun. I hope you get more replies.
I try my best to reply to comments, but some of them, I don't know what to say right away, so it might take me a few times reading the email to think of something.
I have some comments from Friday that I haven't responded to yet, but I plan on doing so.
I don't know if I would go so far as to call bloggers "rude," but I would agree--it can be upsetting if you put time and effort into trying to make new blogging friends and you come up empty-handed. It's frustrating. I've been blogging for three years now, and I am, by no means, going to an expert. One thing I have noticed though--if you go out and comment on 20 blogs, on 100 blogs, on 50 blogs, etc., the MOST number of commentors you'll have in return is 10 percent. I've tried this multiple times and have always come up with the same number. It's discouraging but, for some reason...it happens. I do reply to every comment I receive (by visiting the other person's blog). I think it is the ideal favor to return--it is why we blog in the first place! We are looking for feedback, really. Even when we "blog for ourselves," we still, internally, wish for some sort of recognition. Words that say, "You're beautiful," "I agree," "I disagree, but here's why..." "Thanks for sharing this because...," etc.
Have you ever heard of the blog Wonder Forest? (Run by Dana, who lives in Canada?) I've been following her since last fall. She has a lot of followers, I'll admit. Most of the time, she takes the time to reply to those who comment (usually through email). However, she, too, gets frustrated with blogging and commenting. Here was a post she shared awhile back:

Anyway, I understand your frustrations! I hope that things have picked up for you in the blogging world since then. I noticed that you are now adding sponsors. I wish you luck with selecting and finding them! Happy Blogging. :) :)
Oh yes!! I so agree with this post :) I do try to reply back to people who leave comments (if I can through email and if not, I reply on my site and then go visit their's and leave a comment as well)
A true blogger really wants to communicate, not just have a one-sided conversation :P
